Le immagini della Fantasia 32

On Friday the exhibition Le immagini della fantasia 32 opened at the Edinburgh College of Art. A group of artists based from Scotland had been selected last year to contribute illustrations based on Scottish folklore. My fellow illustrators Gerry Turley, Laura Davis, Catherine Hiley and Keith Thompson also took part, with whom I had organised the exhibition EH? in 2014. The selection of my work included screen prints as well as a digital illustration I made for the publication Tales From Scotland by Le immagini della Fantasia. Sadly now being based in Berlin I could not be there in person, but am delighted to share some photos from the opening.

This week I had my first screen-printing-session at the Bethanien Printworkshop in Kreuzberg/Berlin. The print is inspired by the beautiful allotment that used to be my daily view from my kitchen-window, when I still lived in Edinburgh. There was always a cat roaming around and lovely old man watering his little plot of vegetables.

This is my current work-space in Berlin, which I'm sharing with a bunch of other designers.

Goodbye Scotland

It has been a while since I have posted some updates, which is due to some big changes which recently happened in my life. A few months ago I have decided to relocate from bonnie Edinburgh to busy Berlin. After weeks of planning and preparing, packing and organising, I have now arrived in Berlin a week ago, where a new chapter of creativity and inspiration can begin. So bear with me, whilst I am setting myself up in this new environment. In order to share some recent artwork, I thought I should post some sketches I made whilst travelling on the Isle of Harris in the Scottish Outer Hebrides. A fair well to my favourite landscape.
